The State of AI in Gaming is AiR Hub’s annual, independent benchmark of AI across the global gambling industry. The inaugural edition, published in April 2026, is a 113-page report built on survey responses from 83 gambling companies and 113 regulators worldwide. It introduced the industry’s first AI Maturity Index, on which the industry scored 45 out of 100.

Why it matters

Boards, regulators and the public need an independent evidence base on how AI is really being used in gambling. The report gives the industry a shared reference point for where it stands, shows where the gaps are, and helps organizations lead the debate on responsible AI rather than react to it.

How it works

Gambling companies complete a survey that scores their AI maturity across four dimensions: strategy, infrastructure, expertise and governance. A parallel survey captures regulators’ views on AI oversight. The report combines these with analysis of academic publications, patent filings, conference programs and trade news. Each participating company receives a private benchmark report showing how it compares with its peers.

Current status

Work on the 2027 edition is under way, with release planned for April 2027. Operators, suppliers and regulators can register their interest in participating.
