The AI Use Case Registry is a governance tool that helps organizations document and classify their AI systems across the business, from back-office operations and security to marketing, personalization, customer service and player-facing tools. It records the oversight and safeguards in place for each one, giving leadership, compliance and technology teams a living inventory of where AI is used and where it carries the most risk.

Why it matters

The registry gives organizations a consistent, industry-recognized way to classify and assess the risk of their own AI use cases. It demonstrates transparency and helps organizations get ahead of regulation, from the EU AI Act to the growing wave of AI rules around the world.

How it works

  1. Identify the use case. Name the AI system and where it operates in the business.
  2. Screen player impact. Answer a short set of questions on whether the system could materially affect players, for example their access, money or eligibility.
  3. Get a risk tier. The answers place the use case in one of three tiers: Baseline, Extended or Comprehensive.
  4. Document by tier. Complete the documentation that tier requires, from basic ownership details to full transparency, data, risk mitigation and model information.

Current status

A working prototype of the registry has been built, and we are refining its taxonomy and risk classification. The registry is available as open source, so operators and regulators can customize, brand and deploy it themselves, with the aim of an industry-standard approach. Get the open-source registry →
