We’re thrilled to announce the official launch of the AI Research Hub (AiR Hub) here at UNLV International Gaming Institute. The Hub is an interdisciplinary initiative exploring the impact, risks, and opportunities of AI in the gambling industry.

Our mission is simple: to advance AI research to support ethical innovation and inform responsible governance across the gambling sector.

What We’re Working On

We’re already hard at work on several major initiatives:

State of AI in Gaming Report – An annual, first-of-its-kind review of how AI is transforming the gambling ecosystem, complete with an industry-wide maturity index.

OpenRG & RG Benchmarks – Open-source tools and evaluation frameworks to help stakeholders assess and improve AI systems used for harm prevention.

Sports Betting Education with LLMs – A research project testing how large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT can educate novice bettors and respond to problem gambling queries.

AI and Player Risk Identification and Response - A project that investigates how AI is being used across the industry and how it might be leveraged in the future for marketing, player acquisition, detecting underage gambling, and consumer protection.

A Collective Effort

AiR Hub is made possible through the generous support and expertise of our founding industry members, including Action Gaming, Axes.ai, Evoke, Gaming Analytics, Kindbridge Behavioral Health, Playtech, ROGA, and Walker Digital Table Systems. Together, we’re shaping a future where AI enhances - not compromises - player entertainment and safety as well as industry integrity.
